What Is Gender Fluidity? We live in a society that is gradually opening up different gender identities and expressions beyond the gender binary. The old school belief that sex has only two poles or a binary system, male or female, is clearly unnecessary. Everyone already knows the acronym LGBTQ+, which gets more and more letters every year. But did you know that in addition to the myriad expressions and complex dynamics between sex and gender, there is another interesting element that many people overlook? Gender fluidity is a concept that describes gender as a fixed point, not a fluid characteristic that can change over time. That means going beyond LGBTQ+ or cisgender people (people who identify their gender based on their gender, i.e. typically men and women).
