Be the First to Know About Gender Fluidity

What Is Gender Fluidity?

We live in a society that is gradually opening up different gender identities and expressions beyond the gender binary. The old school belief that sex has only two poles or a binary system, male or female, is clearly unnecessary.

Everyone already knows the acronym LGBTQ+, which gets more and more letters every year. But did you know that in addition to the myriad expressions and complex dynamics between sex and gender, there is another interesting element that many people overlook?

Gender fluidity is a concept that describes gender as a fixed point, not a fluid characteristic that can change over time. That means going beyond LGBTQ+ or cisgender people (people who identify their gender based on their gender, i.e. typically men and women).

Gender Fluid

For the sake of simplicity, some people in the LGBTQ+ community may also be gender biased. This means that they can be a man one day, a woman another day, or both on the same day, or neither.

In people of the opposite sex, their gender expression can sometimes change. Examples of famous celebrities with sexual fluids include Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, and Ruby Rose. Some even choose to change her pronouns to "he" instead of "he" or "she."

Understanding the gender spectrum – LGBTQQIAAP

And you think society stops at LGBTQ… Before understanding how people in these communities can move in their gender identity and expression, it's important to take a holistic view of the entire gender spectrum. LGBTQQIAAP is certainly a long list, but it is not exhaustive.

Gender identity, gender expression and sexuality

After understanding the gender spectrum, it is also important to understand the basis for categorizing them. Gender, sexuality or sexual identity, gender identity and sexual expression have different meanings.

Gender Fluid Person

Gender refers to the biological designation as male or female depending on their reproductive system. Gender refers to the set of roles, attitudes and behaviors associated with a particular gender.

Gender Identity:

Gender identity refers to a person's internalization as male, female, or both. It has nothing to do with the gender of the individual or conformity to the expected gender roles of society.

For example, a man is born a man and is supposed to behave like a "man", but "he" internally identifies as a woman. Or a woman who behaves like a "macho" internalizes being a "macho" instead of a "woman." Or some people don't want to consider certain gender roles.

Gender Expression:

Gender expression refers to the external representation of gender, including clothing, speech and gestures, posture, and behavior.

Once a person internalizes gender, they often begin to express it in their actions. But even if someone hasn't been identified yet, he can express himself differently until he finds her identity. Work both ways.

Sexuality or sexual identity or sexual orientation:

Sexuality refers to a person's attraction or lack of attraction to a particular gender. It refers to the romantic and sexual involvement of men based on the sex of their partner.
